Very Highly Recommended

In the third novel in the nine-book series of Sword & Sorcery, author Charlotte Boyett-Compo once again holds the reader rapt until the last page turns. Picking up where book two leaves off, Conar and Liza McGregor struggle against the winds of fate, victim of storms beyond their imagining.

At last reunited, Conar and Liza plan to return to his father's kingdom Serenia. Confronting the demon Raphian in the book's prologue, Conar learns to use his gifts with Liza to defeat the Storm God. Little do they realize that with the battle won, they've yet to win the war against the evil god and those who serve him, The Brothers of the Dominination led by Kaileel Tohre. Or the depths of evil Tohre will sink to in order take revenge for being scorned by Conar.

Nightmares taunt him, bringing visions of Liza with Conar's half-brother, Brelan Saur. He hears Tohre's vicious gloating, promises of Tohre depriving Conar of his lady forever. The dreams prove to be a retched prophecy as Conar falls victim to great evil. His drink spiked by his own Elite guard, Conar again looses his temper. Liza's mother, the queen, refuses to allow Conar to take Liza home, fearing for her safety, both from Conar and from Tohre.

Liza is determined to stand beside Conar so they may defeat Tohre and his followers together. She believes they are destined to be together. She is the Keeper of the Wind; he is the Prince of the Wind. Sadly, Liza underestimates the events already set into motion, and the reach and evil of the Dominion. Death and change will sweep aside all that she loves and all that she believes in.

As Tohre's power grows, his perversity and evil threaten to destroy the kingdom. Tohre destroys Conar and weakens the power of the King as Galen, Conar vile twin, steps in to rule the kingdom. But that is only the beginning of Tohre's plans. Over-taxation, repossessing the homes and belongings of those unable to pay, destroying the spirit of the people, and the surrounding kingdoms, all build the power of the Dominion. For the first time, their goal to bring mankind into submission to their power, begins to become a real possibility.

Boyett-Compo allows the Windlegend series to grow beyond a simple fantasy series, with a fascinating and reverting love story, into a saga of the fight between good and evil. The evolving mythology, on which the novel rests, continues to become even more complex and mesmerizing with each book of the series. Further, the story of Conar's destruction had me reading until three in the morning, tears streaming down my face. I could hardly keep going, the novel touched me so deeply, yet I couldn't put the thing down. The pain and the challenges faced by these extraordinary characters held me enthralled. If you like Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series, then you're going to love Charlotte Boyett-Compo's WindLegends.

Ms. Boyett-Compo is known for her emotionally gripping novels. In the next installment of the WindLegends saga, she takes the reader through what must be the most heartwrenching journey yet.

This is an aptly named novel, you will definitely be weeping. The Windweeper is a highly emotional read, touching your heart and riveting you to your seat. While the Windweeper can stand on its own, I highly recommend reading the other novels first. This is not to be missed! An amazing read.

I was literally astounded at how much WindWeeper held me in its thrall. As I read the story, I became engrossed in it. Fast paced with many surprising twists and turns, WindWeeper blew me away. I was glued to the edge of my seat turning pages quickly because I had to read what happened next. I found myself laughing at some things and at other points in the book, I found myself on the verge of tears. It has a good balance of humor, love, and tragedy. I absolutely loved this book. I know I am already looking forward to reading the next book in this fascinating series.

Reading WindWeeper was not merely absorbing the tale of two tortured lovers, it is to live it. It touched me in ways that transformed me from the reader and into a friend, experiencing their every setback in a personal way that involved every emotion. Ride this sometimes-excruciating roller coaster because despite the pain the ride is exquisite. Charlotte Boyett-Compo has another winner here. My only complaint? I can't wait for book 4 of the series!

In a word - "Enthralling!"

The WindWeeper by Charlotte Boyett-Compo, the third book in the Wind Legends Saga, is a must read.

If you are acquainted with any of the books in this series you know that there is one promise that Liza cannot keep to Conar McGregor, although she can not bring herself to admit it to him. The unraveling of their lives will keep you breathless as you consume page after page of this story. Ms. Boyett-Compo provides rich entertainment, beautiful characterization and a steady hand while leading us through "their" seemingly non-stopable fate. As always, the strength of this author is in her style of telling a mature love story set in a fantastic world that seems perfectly believable, as well as her ability to mold and shape the plot of the story around rich characters, their emotions, desires and needs. I highly recommend this book for older teens and adults who enjoy romantic fantasy.

Windweeper was such an intense book that I could almost feel the pain Conor was going through. The whole time I was reading the book I felt as if I was there in that time and place. I couldn’t stop reading to the end and I am impatiently anticipating the next installment in the series.

"This story has characters where Hell's fire and gnashing of teeth would be too good a punishment for them. And it has characters that you love and care for with all of your heart.

"For its intense style that immediately draws you in to another place and time, for its ability to thoroughly stimulate your senses, for its unforgettable characters, and for its powerful portrayal of unwavering goodness versus the darkest of evil, I can't recommend Windweeper highly enough!"

Parchment Symbols

The tortured love affair of Conor and Liza, sexy hero and heroine of Charlotte Boyett-Compo's Windlegend series, continues in Windweeper. In spite of Kaileel Tohre's best efforts, nothing - not agony, betrayal, or death - can divide the souls of Liza and Conor.

I really loved the book. Windweeper will delight fans of the Windlegends series as well as anyone interested in an action-packed, emotional fantasy romance.

As I read the series each installment becomes more intense and engrossing than the last. I felt Conar's pain completely in this book. Some of the situations were so real that I almost had tears in my eyes for the trials Conar was being put through.

I very much enjoyed this book though the intensity of it was somewhat overwhelming I think that is what made it so good. Charlotte Boyett-Compo has out done herself on this book.

Poor Conar. How much can one body take? With five more books left to the WindLegends saga, who can say--especially the way this story went. Of course, that last scene had me scrambling to buy the next book which, unfortunatly, won't be available until July. :( As in all the books I've read so far, WindWeeper is a combination of excellent characterization, dialogue and world-building--a combination that had me up until two in the morning two nights in a row (I had to read WindSeeker too)--I couldn't go to sleep until I'd finished. Not the best thing to do when you have to get up early the next morning to get the kids off to school and yourself off to work. Ms. Compo is a pro at what she does. If you love dark (we're talking torture here!) fantasy, be sure to grab WindWeeper and the rest of the WindLegends saga. You won't regret it.

Murder List

WindWeeper isn't a pleasant bedtime romance. It brought tears to my eyes and an ache in my heart that lingered long after the story had ended. You don't want to miss a single moment of each book this saga has to offer.

Murderlist

Ms. Compo had me blustering like a baby quite a few times while reading WINDWEEPER. You could never be sure if love would truly beat evil once and for all. All the way to the end of the book you want Conar to be saved and the Brotherhood to go to hell once and for all. But that is not to be...

The loss that Conar and Liza suffer time and again truly break your heart. Ms. Compo has such a gifted way with words and description you feel you are sitting right in the room with the characters and suffering with them as if you were their family or friend.

This is book three of the WindLegends Saga and I think one of the best ones so far. The emotional toll it will take on you is unbelievable! The tears you will definitely shed will be countless. I can't recommend WINDWEEPER highly enough. When you go to bed and dream of the characters and they are the first thing you think of when you wake up then I think the author has done a tremendous job of making them intriguing and real.

Excellent job by Ms. Compo!!

The landscape of "Windweeper: The Wind Legends Saga" can best be described as supernatural medieval.

The illustrative prose is full, but not cumbersome. Some of the passages might be too vivid for more squeamish readers, particularly during a long torture/whipping scene with Conar and Tohre. There are homosexual overtones as well. In other words, if you have G-rated tastes, this is not for you.

For the rest of us, "Windweeper" is a sweeping epic containing larger-than-life characters, an overwhelming amount of disaster, and soap opera-like twists and turns that keep you rooting for the hero (and heroine) despite all odds.

Timeless Tales (2nd View)

Of the three books in this series I have read, I've enjoyed this one the most. It was the most balanced in terms of story and character development. The violence was not overdone compared to the previous book. I experienced great joy and great sorrow and practically all the emotions in between. I enjoyed learning more about the secondary characters especially Legion, Brelan and even Galen. You learn more about Kaileel and Conar's relationship. This book takes you beyond Conar and Liza's relationship.

In order to understand the motivations, characterizations and storyline, I highly recommend you read the books in order. You can see the growth and maturation of the characters over these three books. I look forward to reading book four of this series when it is published.

HUNTRESS REVIEWS

4 STARS!

This book began where the last left off. Liza and Conar arrive home with their newborn daughter, Nadia. Nadia was only the first of several Liza gave birth to in this novel.

The Domination was not finished with Conar yet. Even Tohre would not be able to help him. Conar's son, Corbin, would also catch the Temple's eyes. Corbin was born with the crescent shaped mark in his hand. The mark was "The Sign of the Wind". Liza would sacrifice much for her son. The whole realm would.

**** Readers again are warned of torture scenes and dark fantasy. I had to be VERY careful not to give anything ital away. This book is fast paced and over-flowing with surprises! I recommend this entire series highly and look forward to book four! ****

Windweeper is more than just a fantasy, it is a mingling of history and imagination, a mix of facts of life and wishful thinking that all men are handsome heroes and all women beautiful and graceful. Embattled good wages war with the forces of evil in the continuing story of these characters.

A read that any lover of fantasy or tales of magic would enjoy. The villains are heinous and very hateable ;the reader will want to stop to boo and hiss at them before continuing. Conar's story puts this reader in the mind of Hamlet, a tale of continuing tragedy. You'll find yourself looking for other books by this talented author. Read and enjoy.

THE ROMANCE STUDIO (second look)Overall rating: 5 Hearts

Sensuality rating: Explicit, caution very emotional

The more I read of the WindLegends Saga the more I want to read. This third installment in the life of Conar and Liza will have you on an emotional rollercoaster. You will be glued to your seat as you go farther into the dark world of Kaileel. You will feel so much sadness as you find out what will become of our hero and his lady. Will this be the end of Conar and Liza? Will Conar get out of the trap that has been woven so tightly around his life? Will Galen finaly get his heart's desire, to have Conars crown as well as his wifes bed? Charlotte Boyett-Compo has written a saga that with each book I read, I become more convinced it should be made into a television series. I believe it would be a blockbuster. I can hardly wait to read the next book WindReaper to see what happens. I have been completely pulled into the legend of the Wind Prince. If youre a true lover of dark fantasy with a romance as passionate as it is tragic, then this is the book for you. I would suggest you read the WindLegends Saga in the order they were written, as one book picks up where the last left off. First book in the saga is Windkeeper. Enjoy!

ParaNormal Romance Reviews

The third Windlegend tale is fantastic as time moves on with the death of Conar's father and Liza now with King Galen. The story line is action-packed leaving readers breathless at the pace of the major subplots. As with the fine first two novels, the tale is owned by a terrific cast of good vs. evil with the bad guys having the upper hand. Excellent fantasy that is best read by starting with the previous tales as this novel builds up the excitement and tension from them; how much higher can Charlotte Boyett-Compo take her audience with the remaining six stories?

THE ROMANCE STUDIO

5 Hearts

WindWeeper by Charlotte Boyett-Compo is another emotionally stirring fantasy adventure in the WindLegends Saga. Appropriately titled this book will keep the reader in tears as they experience the physical and emotional tortures that the characters are faced with in this book. Charlotte Boyett-Compo brings this magical world into existence and for as long as you read you are transported to a world where evil reigns and the characters battle daily just to remain sane. The reader will experience along with the characters a feeling of hopelessness that only love will see them through. Their love is demonstrated through graphic passion that burns out of control. Their time of love and happiness comes so rarely that when it is experienced the characters are desperate and take what they need greedily and sometimes violently. But through the pain their hearts remain faithful in their battle to remain together and vanquish the evil that has taken over their world. I found my self wrapped up in the characters lives and cannot wait until the next book in this series to see what happens next. In these stories happiness comes with a price and that price just may be your soul. I highly recommend this book for the adult readers for their entertainment.

ROMANCE REVIEWS TODAY

This was the first WindLedgends story I've read, and because of that, many of the characters and the settings were already established, which caused me some confusion. Plus, there is a legion of secondary characters. By the second chapter, I was sure I wasn't going to enjoy the story. Then the plot kicked in and drove me straight through to the end. WINDWEEPER is fast paced, wide-ranging and ever changing -- the dark is very dark indeed, with only glimmers of hope and happiness. The tragedies are emotionally wrenching, the violence graphic, but the what-comes-next factor builds a gripping read.

If you like dark, very dramatic stories, this epic-sized (ten volumes with three prequels), twisted tale of love and hate will enthrall you. I suggest you start from the first book, WINDKEEPER, because of the story's complexity, but even if you don't, read WINDWEEPER.

ECATAROMANCE SENSUAL

4.5 Stars

Charlotte Boyett-Compo does not sugar coat this story. The readers are exposed to the depths of pain and humiliation that Conar McGregor suffers as he tries to keep the woman he loves safe. This book is not for the faint of heart. The story of Conar's suffering is vividly told. Liza's fight for Conar will break the reader's heart. There is also enough action, adventure and hot sex to satisfy any appetite. The ending of this book was a complete surprise and left me in tears. The next book in this series promises to be just as powerful. I cannot wait to read it.

TWO LIPS REVIEWS

Charlotte Boyett-Compo has a knack with fantasy, capturing the reader's attention immediately and accomplishing suspension of disbelief without the reader even realizing it's occurred. We are thrown into the life of her tales and live them through her well-developed characters. Her imagination is incredible and her plots twist and turn fast-paced, shooting around corners then up into the atmosphere and as quickly streaming belowground. One doesn't know what to expect from page to page or often from sentence to sentence, except that it's all fascinating. WindWeeper is an installment of the WindLegends Saga; it works effectively on its own, but this reviewer recommends reading the entire series, simply for their depth and enchantment.
