Charlotte Boyett-Compo has a real ability to make us experience what her tortured heroes do and this book is no exception as Conar is forced to accept the fact he will eventually become paralyzed and blind because of one woman's hatred. The evil one man, or woman, can do to another never ceases to amaze me and how resilient one man can be against all odds is something Charlotte Boyett-Compo shows us with a unique flair all her own. This is one of those series that once you start, you just can't stop reading to find out how it all ends. I just wait for the next one in this series. Read this series, you'll be glad you did.
