A FIVE STAR WINNER!
This is the Fifth book in the series of the Windlegends Saga, and I have to say that I continue to be in awe of this talented author's work. Ms. Compo keeps you deeply engrossed in the story, and eager to find out what will happen next. Her characters are so realistic, they jump from the pages and have you still thinking about them long after the book has ended. You'll find yourself tempted (as I was many times) to jump to the last pages to see how this part of the story ends. Please don't! Try to restrain yourself, for it is well worth the wait. Those of you who are fans of Ms. Compo's WindLegends Saga will not be disappointed. I highly recommend reading, "The Windreaper" It's a Five Star Winner, and I eagerly await the next book in this series

Four Daggers
Ms. Compo, with grace, style, and words that will trap you within the soul of this lonely warrior, has written a splendid addition to her Windlegends Saga. Conar's pain will tighten your heart, Liza's honor, and determination to remain to faithful to Legion will make you ache with the heartache and loss both have endured. WindReaper will take you on a journey of suffering, heartache, and yet hope.
A definite four daggers for the WindReaper, and for the author, who has yet again, managed to surprise me with her depth of emotion and her ability to lead her characters through yet another trial, without losing the edge of hope and compassion that a reader must feel to continue a Saga based on the pain, tormented needs, and search for fulfillment, such as the Windlegends series does.

True to fashion, Ms. Boyett-Compo kept me up to 3am AGAIN. I just couldn?t put it down?and it was the second time I?d read it. Yes, it was that good.
Charlee said this was her favorite book of the series. I have to agree. This book was so powerfully emotional that I lost count of how many times my eyes teared.
Lovers of dark fantasy won?t want to miss this book?especially if you?ve read any of the others. Talk about tortured heroes! As soon as the paperback is available (I read the ebook version), it?s going on my keeper shelf. I definitely can?t wait for the next one. Do yourself a favor and head right over to BN.com or Amazon.com and order these books. They?ll take a while to get to you, but they?re well worth the wait.

5 Daggers
WINDREAPER is the fifth book in the WINDLEGEND Saga. It is extremly gripping and better then the first four books. If that's possible. Ms. Compo has done another excellent job at entertaining her readers and bringing her wonderful charcters to life for us. She writes with a style that is all her own. A style that is truly magnificent!! She is definately a magician herself. One who has cast on spell on her devoted readers time and time again.
Ms. Compo amazes me every single time I pick up one of her books. How many stories does she have? How can she keep them going with such a breathtaking style? Never faltering from the original books in her series? She is my most favorite author around and she proved it yet again with WINDREAPER! I just can't stand the wait for her next book!!

AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE
Connor McGregor reaps a bitter harvest resulting from years of horrific experiences in the fifth installment of the WindLegends Saga entitled WINDREAPER. Dark psychological overtones lend the novel depth and complexity that makes this hero all too human and understandably flawed. Indeed, years of exile to the Labyrinth and extreme abuse only created a stronger man in Conar McGregor. He successfully defied the odds, surviving events that would destroy any other man, only to allow his desire for revenge, to threaten to lead him down a path of destruction. Charlotte Boyett-Compo's masterful storytelling lends this novel a wonderful sense of power. Connor and Liza's story is so memorable, so haunting, and so tragic that readers will find a need for Kleenex and missed sleep, only to be left wanting more. WINDREAPER is a Winner of the WordWeaving Award for Excellence.

This is the latest installment to the Windlegends Saga. While I am one of Charlotte Boyett-Compo's biggest fans, the awards she has won for this series can attest to the quality of her writing. As with all of her books she has again left me panting for more and dying to find out what will happen next. I hope you all find her books as entertaining and engrossing as I do.

5 Hearts
As the Dark Overlord of the Wind, he and his Resistance Fighters set out to restore the kingdom. Lord Darkwind is rightly named. He moves with the mist. He fights like a demon. He lives in bitter excess.
This book is dark and brooding. It details love lost, honor discarded and then redeemed. It is hard to read, because the agony that Conar has endured has worked its way into his soul and because it works into the reader's. It is not a stand-alone novel. The world depicted in this book has obviously been developed throughout several prior stories, and the author is not yet done with the tale. It is, however, so well written that readers will want to immerse themselves in the entire saga.

4 Stars
Ms. Boyett-Compo has written another page turner. She keeps you reading to see how the triangle of Conar/Liza/A'Lex will end up and, more importantly, to see how much further Conar can sink to. Conar is an extremely flawed character and he doesn't have many heroic moments in this book. Even with all his flaws, you can see a glimmer of greatness -- of what he could be if he had more control of himself and if others didn't interfere with his life. ..... Even with all his many faults, Conar is still able to command loyalty from his brothers, friends and Liza. Many of the characters from previous books makes a reappearance so it is vital that you read the previous books. There is sexual violence in this book -- definitely not for the squeamish! Even though I did wince more than once while reading this book, I do look forward to the next one.

Talented Charlotte Boyett-Compo will keep you fascinated with her
knowledge of the human heart and the depth of emotions it knows.
In the cast of well-drawn characters you will find great compassion and evil of the worst kind existing on the same plane, each
turning outward to touch others. Recommended as a fun read, one
that will have you looking for the rest of the series with which
to pass many pleasant hours. Enjoy.

Romance Reviews Today
This book in the series is difficult because so much deals with different characters' internal issues. It is very likely you will not like Conar. The beginning has a ten-page glossary of names and places involved in the story, which is quite intimidating, but turns out to be very helpful. There are some long passages of narrative that provide background, and the apparent disconnect between the dehumanizing end of the last book and Conar’s behavior in this book was puzzling -- both to me and to Conar. One can only assume the love between Conar and Liza surmounted the Windmaster’s power to eliminate that love from Conar’s heart. Still, Charlotte Boyett-Compo writes a compelling story, and she is too skillful a writer not to weave all these threads together in one of the future books. So pay attention while you read!
It will be very helpful if you have read at least some of the previous books in the series before you read WINDREAPER. In this story, the author looks at the many different aspects of love and hate, and while Conar’s journey continues, you won’t want to miss this installment.

Incomparable author Charlotte Boyett-Compo doesn't have a bad book in her creative imagination. Once again, as always, WindReaper lives up to its authors reputation, stirring the reader's imaginative fancy from the very first page with realistic, true-to-life characters and situations, couched in a plot that speeds through the book with numerous twists and turns and cliffhangers. Ms. Boyett-Compo seems to possess imagination enough for any three writers, and amply demonstrates it here. Readers, she is truly an author not to ever miss, and WindReaper is a sterling example. Read, reread, marvel!

MY BOOK CRAVINGS

Ms. Boyett-Compo has done it again. She hooked me into another of her series. I chose this one thinking it was part of the first series I started and surprise it wasn't. This is my first book in this series, I don't know what happened before this one but, I know her work is fantastic and I have thoroughly enjoyed this adaptation of Robinhood with a twist. This was very well written and perfectly paced.
