Murder List
Wind Healer continues the Wind Legends Saga. There are no words I can find to urge you strong enough to begin this amazing series of books. As a reader, until now, I have never fully enjoyed fantasy romance. But this series has changed my mind, and has me eagerly awaiting book V.

This story is another stunning installment of the Windlegends Saga. As each book in the series is released the tension builds. The intensity of Charlotte Boyett-Compo's writing is beyond compare. I have a very hard time finding words strong enough to describe just how superlative her writing is. I've never seen an author describe human evil with such depth and with such reality.
I personally loved this book. I was pulled in from the beginning to end. I found tears coming to my eyes in some of the scenes they were so vivid. I can hardly wait to read the next installment to the series.

Four Stars
If you've read the other WindLegends books, don't miss this one. You'll need to know what happens and I'm sure you'll enjoy it as much as you did the others. If you haven't read the others, this reader suggests that you start at the beginning with The WindKeeper. You won't want to miss out on a single thing.

Murderlist
WINDHEALER will shatter your heart into a thousand pieces. The pure physical and mental abuse and terror Conar suffers is appalling . Again, I cried my eyes out for this once proud character. The love he loses and the torment he suffers shot pain straight to my very soul.
Ms. Compo blows my mind with her exceptional imagination and first rate writing talent. I can't believe she's held me so spellbound and intrigued with these characters all the way into the fourth book. I want to rush right into the fifth book and I feel mentally depressed that I have to wait for her to write it! I can't get enough of these characters and can not wait to read the next story when it's done.

Here's how you write a totally riveting novel series. Create the most lovable character you can think of. Make him a prince with the handsome name of Conar McGregor, who is loved and respected by his people in a peaceful and proud kingdom called Serenia. Give him some flaws like arrogance and stubbornness, flaws which are nevertheless endearing in him because of his innate goodness. Surround him by brothers and an elite guard who protect and cherish him. Allow him to fall deeply in love with the strong and beautiful Anya Elizabeth Wynth, who is the equivalent of life itself to him, and he to her. Then snatch his woman, his reason for living, away from him. For added measure, make her betray him in the worst possible way. Have him also suffer from knowing that his kingdom has been taken over by the most evil of forces and that many of his loved ones have been slain in the process. Frame him for a crime and send him to a hellish prison called the Labyrinth on Tyber's Isle where he is brutally tortured, both mentally and physically. Have his torturers do things like make him endure his most terrifying childhood phobias, and things a thousand times worse! After years of such anguish, somehow rescue him from that which would have killed most people in a day. And now when he is finally free, plague his sleep each night with scream-inducing nightmares which replay, in living color, all the agonies he's already been forced to endure. Don't forget to write with a compelling style and build the suspense so the reader must perch on the edge of her seat, wondering if Conar will finally succumb to the wicked schemes of the Tohre. Write it so the reader will quickly turn the pages to see if all of the suffering Conar's had to endure will make him a changed man, to see if it will break him for good, because all he has loved has been taken from him, and he just can't take it anymore!!
I gotta tell you, this Windlegend series is the most emotionally draining thing I've ever read in my life! If you haven't read books I, II, or III, I'd suggest you start at the beginning before reading book IV--if you want the full impact of what I'm talking about, not that book IV won't spellbind you on its own.
Just remember: Charlotte Boyett-Compo, Windlegend Series, Books I-IV. So far.

Five Stars - at least!!!
In this fast paced novel, the reader is brought to his or her knees - suffering every physical and psychological humiliation that Conar McGregor experiences. As always, Ms. Compo brings an unearthy world into reality with rich, emotionally charged characters.
If you have not read any of the WindLegends then it is time you start. I strongly recommend this and all the books of the saga. I can't wait for the next one!!

Parchment Symbols Magazine
The Windhealer is filled with the powerful emotion and vivid description expected of a Charlotte Boyett-Compo book. Like its predecessors, The Windhealer grabs you from the beginning and never lets go until the last page. This novel leaves you anxious for the next as we see Conar MacGregor, a man whose weaknesses make him a well-loved character, become hard, vicious, and a force to be reckoned with. The charming boy-prince of The Windlegends Saga is dead, and readers must welcome Raven, fearsome warrior of The Dark Wind.
This book has elements of romance, but it is more a fantasy adventure that follows the growing relationship between a band of warriors preparing to fight for the forces of good. For fans of Boyett-Compo and anyone who likes great characters combined with an adventurous plot, this book is not to be missed.

Word Weaving
Very highly recommended
Author Charlotte Boyett-Compo weaves a tale of destiny and survival in THE WINDHEALER. Boyett-Compo has a remarkable gift for exposing the darkest of motivations and the worst of cruelties, and for pushing her heroes and heroines to their limits and beyond. Her tale at once fascinates and repels as she weaves a web of deceit, abuse and love. Fans of Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series will revel in the complexity and challenges of Boyett-Compo's WindLegends Saga series. Dark fantasy fans who have not yet begun this series have missed something haunting and absolutely memorable.

Scribblers
The fourth book in the series, THE WINDHEALER is extraordinary making the reader want for more as the conclusion leaves the reader hanging in the balance frustrated wondering if Conor will die. To fully understand what made the man and to understand why the man is as hard as he is strong, it is vital to read the first three books. However, it must be noted that this is a stand alone which can be read out of sequence. Dark fantasy is normally not my strong point but Boyett-Compo has made me rethink that idea especially for her books.

Timeless Tales
4 Stars
Most of the focus of this book was the treatment of Conar and his progression toward the persona he assumes at the end of this book. His treatment at the hands of the guard and the supposed "faithlessness" of his wife, Liza pushes him over the edge. There is much violence and cruelty in this book. It is not for the squeamish or those with weak stomachs. I was disappointed with the author's use of an over-utilized plot device seen often in romance books, but I do look forward to the next book in this series to see what happens next. This book builds up to the next one and many of the storylines may be resolved then, although with a ten-book saga who knows what Ms. Boyett-Compo will write next! I feel it is necessary for you to read the books in order to understand the characters and plot line.

THE ROMANCE STUDIO
5 Hearts
Charlotte Boyett-Compo has a style that’s all her own. She writes her stories in such a way that one can’t help but wonder if its real. The way each book picks right up from where the last one left off, is more like a pause than an ending. I’m really torn about this story. Part of me can’t wait to read the last book in this saga, where as part of me doesn’t want it to ever end. In my opinion Ms. Compo is the Queen in her field of Dark Paranormal Romance and I will forever be a loyal subject. I give Five Hearts and hope you get your copy of Windhealer. You’ll be glad you did.

THE BEST REVIEWS
"Excellent fantasy"
To better understand the motives of the key two antagonists and several supporting cast members, fantasy fan should read the three earlier novels first although THE WINDHEALER easily can stand alone. Conar is a terrific hero who has met tortures that Job would struggle with yet somehow keeps on going. Tohre is one of the best villains in the genre as this evil seeks vengeance on his former student for rejecting him. In her fourth WindLegends tale, Charlotte Boyett-Compo once again provides an excellent novel that genre fans will find immensely satisfying and seek the rest of the saga.

ECataromance Sensual
4.5 Star
Charlotte Boyett-Compo picks up exactly where her last book ended. The
reader will endure Conar's suffering and the joy of his triumph. Secrets
from Conar's past are revealed, explaining the fears that haunted his adult
life. This story takes the reader on the rollercoaster ride that is Conar's
life. He experienced terrifying lows, but also heights of great passion.
The cliffhanger at the end of this book had me screaming out loud. I need
to know what happens next! I cannot wait for the next book to be published.

Romance Reviews Today
WINDHEALER is a disturbing story. The first half deals with the horrific brutality against Conor, and it is difficult to read. The second half deals with his friends' rehabilitation and their intentions to mold him into the warrior prophesized to end the Dominion's hold. Their endeavors prove the old adage that you should be careful what you wish for. But this is dark fantasy, and with the gods of this strange world involved, nothing is as clear-cut as it seems. In many ways, this is a transitional book. The gods scour Conor of presumption, pride, arrogance and self-esteem, and take all he holds dear to create the tool they desire. He endures an equally hard, if not violent, rehabilitation. With his free will curbed by all who know him, what might he demand in return for his service to the gods?
As in the previous WindLegends stories (see WINDWEEPER), Charlotte Boyett-Compo delivers a twisted story of love and hate in a setting you will find both familiar and foreign. Her world is complex, the motivations driving her characters multi-layered. While the many secondary characters can be confusing, the main characters draw your empathy and involve you totally in the story. This is not a story for the weak hearted, but the journey for everyone else is worth the emotional ride.

TWO LIPS REVIEWS
Five Hot Kisses
Charlotte Boyett-Compo's knack with fantasy immediately captures the reader's attention and accomplishes suspension of disbelief without the reader even realising it's occurred. We are thrown into the life of her tales and live them through her well-developed characters. Her imagination is incredible and her plots twist and turn fast-paced, shooting around corners then up into the atmosphere and as quickly streaming belowground. One doesn't know what to expect from page to page or often from sentence to sentence, except that it's all fascinating. WindHealer has more graphic violence than some of the other installments in the series. It is Book Four of the WindLegends Saga. This reviewer highly recommends both this story, and the entire series. Although WindHealer functions fine in stand-alone mode, for the reader's enjoyment, it's recommended that you read them all!
