SENSUAL ECATAROMANCE REVIEWS

Charlotte Boyett-Compo never disappoints with her stories that enchant, thrill and excite. Nowhere is this more obvious than with Shades of the Wind.
Darkly romantic and erotic, Shades of the Wind is an intense read, enhanced by the use of legend throughout. With non-stop action, Charlotte Boyett-Compo grabs your interest and your emotions on page one. She keeps you on the edge of your seat until the last page. Catherine and Bahru do not fit together while Khenty and Catherine have such wonderful chemistry that it is obvious that they belong together. Their long difficult road should prove this. Fans of Ms Boyet-Compo and fans of paranormal romance should add this to their list as Shadows of the Wind is good to the last word.

EROMANCE WRITERS REVIEWS
Rating: 7 out of 10
SHADES OF THE WIND is described as a futuristic, shapeshifter novel, but it seemed like a primitive example of a futuristic world. Diabolusia and its residents appear to be living in Victorian Egyptian times, though some modern dialogue and foodstuffs are present as well. The chemistry is very prevalent between Kate and Khenty, though Kate’s enthrallment appeared too easily achieved, too early in the story. The storyline, though rushed at times, gave the reader a glimpse into an interesting and colorful world with a well developed cast of characters. A satisfying way to spend an afternoon, though I would have liked about a hundred more pages, I was glad to be a visitor to this fascinating world.

JOYFULLY REVIEWED
Shades of the Wind reads like a gothic novel, where the heroine travels to a large estate and falls in love with the master of the house. In this case the master is a servant of Anubis, a fact that intrigued me and drew me into the story. Readers who enjoy paranormal tales of romance will enjoy Shades of the Wind.

LOVES ROMANCES AND MORE REVIEWS

SHADES OF THE WIND by Ms. Boyett-Compo is yet another example of the superb quality of this prolific author’s works. In SHADES OF THE WIND, Ms. Boyett-Compo deftly mixes the Egyptian mythos and her own Reaper mythos to serve up a story that is impossible to set aside. Yet another winner!
Khenty is also one of those rare alphas who have the confidence to allow their mate to stand by their sides rather than attempting to dominate them. This reader fell head over heels for him.
Behru and Nyria are characters that readers will love to hate. Both should have been spanked frequently as children to teach them boundaries. The other secondary characters do a wonderful job of rounding out this story and this reviewer hopes that a few of them will be getting their own stories.
This reviewer highly recommends SHADES OF THE WIND to any readers that love paranormal romances. The Egyptian flavor gives it a whole new taste and grants this wonderful story a place on this reviewer’s keeper shelf. Get your copy today!

JUST EROTIC ROMANCE REVIEWS

Charlotte Boyett-Compo’s Shades of the Wind is a scorcher! Though the setting is of a futurist shape shifter world, it resembled a time in the past. It was more like escaping to a Victorian-Egyptian world. The plot is one with twists and turns. The plot was rather complex but impossible to put down. This is not a short story yet I read it in one sitting. I eagerly turned the pages to see what would happen next. Bahru is a very dislikable, vulgar and evil character, which makes him a great antagonist for this story. The housekeeper, Nyria, is downright disagreeable, rude and creepy, making for a sense of suspense. The chemistry between Catherine and Khenty is strong from the first time they lay eyes on each other. The sexual tension between them is riveting. This is an extremely hot book. I highly recommend it to those who enjoy erotic romance, vampires, paranormal and steamy romance.

FALLEN ANGEL REVIEWS

This was a beautiful love story, well thought out and plotted to the hilt with a fascinating bevy of characters. So I’m saddened to say I still finished this story with a heavy heart. Yes, the couple finally found peace and the villains got what they deserved. However just as the world is never quite black and white, I found many shades of gray in this story. How could I not sympathize with the black woman who for years warmed her white Master’s bed but as soon as a virginal woman of his ilk comes along, suddenly she should know her place? Nothing was ever promised so that must make her heartache okay. The antagonist in this story did some awful things and deserved her fate in the end, yet I found my thoughts of the hero tainted by his callous disregard for the feelings of the woman he gave his seed to over and over again. I actually have to tip my hat to Ms. Boyett- Compo since this caused me to have a strong emotional reaction to the story and locked me into my seat as I read the pages to see how things would work out. Shades of the Wind is an attractive story with a few subliminal messages, intentional or not, that I can see sparking some rather interesting debates and that most readers will find irresistible.

COFFEE TIME ROMANCE REVIEWS

I must say that I had a very hard time starting this story. I was a bit confused at first, but after the second chapter, I was pleasantly surprised that the storyline picked up, and I found a treasure in the middle of the story. Although I had a hard time at the beginning, it in no way means that you will. Try Shades of the Wind for a change of pace.

TWO LIPS REVIEWS

Shades of the Wind is one of the absolute best of Charlotte Boyett-Compo’s always incomparable tales. The reader cannot put this book down, beginning with the first sentences. It will appeal to lovers of the paranormal, fantasy, and ancient Egyptian religion, spirituality, and mysticism. Few readers will be able to turn away from this one, and I expect this extraordinarily intriguing novel will win many new readers to the pantheon of Ms. Boyett-Compo, who never disappoints her readers.

THE ROMANCE STUDIO

Shades of the Wind by Charlotte Boyett-Compo is another wondrously creative tale of shape-shifters and vampires. It relates to her other tales in the WindLegends series in that there are a few familiar elements but this story is capable of fully standing alone. Unlike the author’s other stories the characters are not tortured forever only to find a little happiness. I found myself actually smiling. As a huge fan I do not say this lightly. Most of her stories are filled with angst. This is relatively a lighthearted story in comparison. Catherine and Kenty are likeable creative characters that will win the hearts of the reader. Their love story is filled with passion. Their encounters are described in explicitly delicious details. The storyline is fascinating and creative with unique creatures that I have a feeling may show up in later stories. Shades of the Wind by Charlotte Boyett-Compo is a fascinating passionately erotic romance filled with shape-shifting vampire-like characters in a fantasy world of magic and imagination.
