Armistenky Territory of Terra; the Citadel; Charlestown; Sagewood Plantation – 3479
Glyn Kullen is one grim Reaper. He has to put his horse down after the beast steps in a gopher hole. It is blazing hot, he is not in a good mood, and the prospect of riding in a stagecoach does not sit well with him. When he wearily climbs into the stage, he is chastised for his language by a six-year-old girl.
Mystery Butler --- a woman of color --- is a beautiful widow on her way back to Charlestown with her daughter, Valda, to be with her family. Her husband was killed by a Rogue. Unlike her mother and the other passenger, a salesman, Valda is not aftaid of Glyn and begins to bombard him with questions. Glyn finds that he does not mind the little girl or the nature of what she asks…which is all about him. His attention, however, is drawn to Mystery. Never before has a woman attracted him like she does.
The Reaper’s mood is not helped when a turbulent thunderstorm begins. His death, on a battlefield on his homeworld, was in such a storm. He may be three hundred years-old, but such weather still brings back terrible memories. But, worse than his memories is the prejudice he discovers when the stage stops at the station for an overnight stay. Glyn tries to deny his desire for Mystery and leaves as soon as she and Valda are safe at their destination. Neither can escape the other as they share hot, steamy dreams.
More than prejudice is alive and well on the Sagewood Plantation owned by Anthony Simmons. Lelani Shoad, Foreman John Dirk, and others practice Voodoo. Lelani is determined to have Glyn, and both Anthony and John want Mystery. Neither John nor Lelani is averse to calling on the dark spirits to get what they want. All are surprised when more than the old gods come calling. Morrigunia nemesis, Raphian, adds to the horror by ripping a hole in the protective veil that was designed to keep out unwanted ‘visitors’ to Terra.
Zombays are terrorizing the populace. Reapers are transitioning out of cycle. When all but one of the Reapers are called out to restore things to normal, mental communications between the Reapers, Shadowlords and the Goddess Morrigunia are short-circuited. It will take every skill the Reapers possess to drive back the encroaching evil and when Glyn must make a life-altering decision, he may lose Mystery forever.
Oh. My. Charlotte Boyett-Compo continues to amaze and delight me with her ability to handle large, diverse casts of characters which she does with such ease. Old friends and new acquaintances band together to fight the dangers that threaten them. Paralyzing fear can be smelled and felt and the reader gets swept along. With MY REAPER’S DAUGHTER, Ms. Boyett-Compo proves that a very old premise can be made new. She does not let the subject matter decline into a bad B horror movie status and this story just adds more proof that she is not only prolific, but also one of the most imaginative fantasy paranormal writers. MY REAPER’S DAUGHTER is long, sustained tension and there is the very real possibility that there might not be a happy ending. It is a top-notch chiller and I very much recommend it.

JUST EROTIC ROMANCE REVIEWS

My Reaper's Daughter is a wonderfully engrossing cross of western, sci-fi, futuristic and paranormal romances. Although that sounds like it shouldn't work, it comes together beautifully. My first impression was that the tale could easily be set in Joss Whedon's Firefly series and that is true in many ways (although add a bit of Buffy as well). Ms. Boyett-Compo weaves a strange world in the future where Reapers, crosses between vamp/shifters and Texas Rangers, are the law for their world. They face unimaginable dangers such as rogues, magic-users and zombies in their fight to keep the peace on Terra. Her Reapers are multi-faceted and so heroic that you just want to take one home with you. Their lady-loves are just as strong and opinionated as their men. The romance between Glyn and Mystery is sweet, sexy and sensual and the sex scenes are just hot enough to get your juices flowing. Nothing too unusual—vanilla, oral and anal play are the order of the day with just a bit of biting thrown in for good measure. The course of love never flows smoothly and Glyn and Mystery face terrible dangers before the story is completed. Valda, Mystery's daughter, just about steals the show; you will be laughing at her antics and her unabashed honesty. I truly enjoyed My Reaper's Daughter and will have to add the WesternWind series to my reading wishlist!

FALLEN ANGEL REVIEWS

My Reaper’s Daughter is number six in the WesternWind series and my favorite so far. The addition of Valda adds humor and an emotional edge. I felt like I was revisiting families and making new friends. We had a visit from all the characters from the previous WesternWind series. We finally had a visit from Owen and Rebecca and I finally had the answer to the questions I was left with at the end of Tears of a Reaper. Charlotte Boyett-Compo once again writes an amazing, captivating and action filled story. She has manages to keep the level of excitement and quality of writing as high if not better with each subsequent book. I was kept on my seat as I read along. The plot of the story is a little complicated, “twisted” I can say, with the multiple evil after the reapers. I could go on and on about how wonderful this story is but will conclude buy saying My Reaper’s Daughter is the perfect blend of what I would call a feel good story and action that keeps you at the edge of your seat action. This is my favorite book in the WesternWind series so far and I cannot wait for the other installments.

PARANORMAL ROMANCE REVIEWS
WESTERN WIND SERIES BOOK 6: MY REAPER’S DAUGHTER delves into the dark side of voodoo. Charlotte Boyett-Compo adds a couple of surprising twists in this newest installment in the WESTERN WIND SERIES with the addition of voodoo. This was something I was definitely not expecting in this series. Not to mention how Glyn becomes involved with a “woman of color”. And the way we get to keep up with the rest of the Reapers and their ladies is just an added bonus. This time, we learn just a bit more about the head Shadowlord as well. Not enough to satisfy my curiosity, but enough to really make me wonder. As always, this is a story of a love meant to be and the many obstacles the couple must overcome to be together. And I for one, cannot wait to see how this series finally ends.

READER VIEWS
“My Daughter’s Reaper” is a great romantic science-fiction tale. It is really interesting in that the
story takes place so far in the future, yet many of our modern conveniences do not exist on this
planet. This story has many dimensions to it. First of all is the relationship of Glyn, Valda and
Mystery to one another. Valda is very precocious and adds to the dynamics between Glyn and
Mystery. Glyn and Mystery have some beautifully-written sensual moments. Then, there are the
Reapers’ abilities. They have tremendous capabilities on their own, yet they also have higher
powers to answer to and to look to for help. These higher powers are not easy to deal with. There
are also the people that work the dark magic. They are ruled by jealousy and greed. Mystery and
Glyn have to open their eyes up to these dark forces in order to survive. Don’t miss out on this one!

BITTEN BY BOOKS

This is book six in the Western Wynd Series by Ms. Boyett-Campo. It is a mixture of sci-fi and paranormal. While I made the mistake of not starting from the beginning of this amazing series, this was still an excellent stand alone read. Though I highly recommend starting at the beginning so all of the elements of the Reapers are clear. The Reapers are shapeshifters who come from other worlds, they need to drink blood for sustenance and each one can shift into a different animal or their wolf form. This particular book featured a lot of voodoo and zombies. Needless to say it is a busy storyline! The author clearly has done her research on voodoo rituals and history and I commend her for that. There is humor, sorrow, plenty of lust and tons of action packed into My Reaper’s Daughter. I am looking forward to going back to the beginning and reading the rest of the books in this series.
