  • MORRIGUNIA,
    THE TRIUNE GODDESS,
GODDESS OF WAR, LIFE AND DEATH

Her name is pronounced: mar ruh goo knee uh

Her homeworld is on Dragan, a Chalean moon.

Life persona—a beautiful young woman with long blonde hair, a voluptuous figure, cherry red lips and eyes the color of the sea at sunset.

Death persona—Ugly, withered old woman with long, scraggly white hair, drooping bosoms, watery blue eyes, and lipless mouth.

Warrioress persona—flowing red hair, eyes as green as a stalk of a new corn plant, and breasts that are full and bare.

Can shapeshift. Her favorite guise is that of a dragon:

Roughly twenty feet in length with a wingspan that stretches nearly twice that from tip to membranous tip, it is covered in bright copper scales that glisten. It has huge front paws with inch-thick curved talons. The beast has a twelve foot long, six inch thick tail covered in curving barbed fins projecting upward with the tail tapering to a caudal process—a flanged boney spade—at the tip. It possesses an enormous neck and head. It has a triangular head with great mandibles, flaring nostrils, glistening muzzle and large scalloped ears that are slanted downward. Slit-pupil eyes with an eerie phosphorous green glow are set within a scaly eye ridge protruding over the large orbs. Rising up from the gargantuan head and curving backward toward the body of the beast are two long spiny horns that end in a needle-sharp point.

Morrigunia first became aware of the parasite when a warrior woman named Zenia Hyreil from Ghaoithe chased a man with whom she was obsessed across time and space and into Morrigunia's realm. Zenia had discovered a text written by an obscure Healer who spoke of a plant that grew deep in the rainforests of Resuello. She traveled to Resuello and harvested some of the spores, inadvertently becoming contaminated with the parasite and Transitioning into the first female Reaper. Morrigunia leads Cainer Cree and Zenia into a ruin called Speal Buanaí. Translated in ancient Chalean, it means Scythe of the Reaper. It was the home of Bás (Death). It was there that Zenia fell upon Cree, sank her fangs into his neck and attempted to drain him of his blood. Before she could take all his blood and devour him as she no doubt intended, Morrigunia materialized behind her with scythe in hand and severed the mad woman’s head from her body.

At that point Cainer Cree lies dying from Zenia's attack while Morrigunia stood over him—scythe in hand—and watched as the parasite wriggled free of Zenia’s decapitated body. It lay there flopping on the stone floor as though its own head had been severed from its body. Bending down to push Cainer’s shirt out of the evil thing’s way, the Goddess of War, Life and Death lowered her scythe and cut a slit in the warrior’s back. When the parasite invades Cree's body, he begins to change. The result was the first male Reaper in that part of the megaverse made by Morrigunia. Upon him she placed several Geas to keep him in line (see Geas).

Since the goddess was omniscient and clairsentient Morrigunia had been in communication with the parasite since Cainer Cree and Zenia entered Her world. In that contact, She learned what the host was capable of doing and from whence it had originated (see Raphian). The possibilities intrigued Morrigunia—a warrior incapable of being killed on the battlefield, one whose strength exceeded that of ten men, and whose bloodlust would be wild, who could be controlled by either withholding or providing Sustenance, gave Her ideas of Her own to rule humankind.

When Morrigunia realized the potential for evil that Raphian had created, She set out to undo His evil, not realizing the spores had spread far and wide over the megaverse and other Reapers were in the process of being made on planets unknown to Her. She could not keep those infected with the parasite from changing but She could instill human traits in them to hold at bay the evil Raphian had unleashed. Her tribes of Reapers are spread throughout the megaverse on planets such as Theristes.

There is a legend that says She has a place somewhere in the megaverse where She breeds Her own very special Reapers, sons of Her own body called the guirt. These Reaper offspring are conceived from Morrigunia's dream-induced 'rape' of an established Reaper.

She also creates Reapers in Her guise as the Triune Goddess, coming to a dying warrior on the battlefield and Transferring a parasite from Her body to his.
