GOOD READS REVIEWS

I loved this book. It was fast paced had very interesting characters with a suspenseful, erotic storyline that kept me on the edge of my seat! There are some very funny as well as very sad moments throughtout the novel. It was like such a rollercoaster to me...and I loved every minute of it!

There was definitely more to the hero that meets the eye...all is not what it seems with him. I loved that he was flawed (very flawed) but, he grew and evolved just like the heroine. I loved their relationship. It was loving, supportive and passionate.

I will definitely buy more from this author. I have read some short stories by her, but I plan on getting her longer novels after reading this story.

THE ROMANCE READERS CONNECTION REVIEWS

IN THE ARMS OF THE WIND is a fast-moving novel that keeps you engaged in the plight of Danny and Kaycee. Although Kaycee's character seems to accept some situations a little too easily, the reader will definitely sense her love for Danny and enjoy the story.

SIMPLY ROMANCE REVIEWS

Rating: A-, Recommended Read Award

If you are looking for a warm and fuzzy love story with Disney music in the background, this is not the book for you. The author took some major risks writing this story, and I for one am glad she did.

This is a tale of dark love. The lead character is not your boy next door, and your average woman would probably run screaming if he showed up at her down with romance in mind. Danny Gallagher is a detective in the town he lives, but he's also part of an Irish mob family, and he does work for them on the side. His past is shady, messy, and more than a little violent. He doesn't like what he does, but it's expected of him by his family. And that's all that matters.

Kaycee Connor heard a murder. She didn't see anything. When Danny Gallagher arrived on the scene to investigate, he was hit like lightening. She was the one. So the tale unfolds of his pursuit of Kaycee, an average woman living an average life. The story of their relationship had me gasping in shock, tingling with envy, and then just plain amazed. Were Kaycee's choices conventional? No. But then neither are her feelings for Danny.

If you want to read a story unlike any you've ever read before, pick up In the Arms of the Wind. You won't be disappointed.

FALLEN ANGEL REVIEWS

Readers, take a deep breath because once you dive into In the Arms of the Wind you will be left breathless for the entire duration of this book. From the opening scene I was totally hooked and screaming Oh My! – I can’t believe that just happened. With each turn of the page I fell deeper under author Charlotte Boyett-Compo’s spectacular storytelling. There was always one surprise after another. Just when I thought I had everything figured out, Ms. Boyett-Compo threw in another shocking twister and had me brooding over just how Daniel and Kaycee were going to rectify their current situation. Overall, I found In the Arms of the Wind to be an exciting, suspenseful and very passionate adventure that kept me blissfully intrigued until the very end.

JUST EROTIC ROMANCE REVIEWS

Kaycee Connor is just a normal person but when she gets caught up in a murder investigation her world is turned upside down. Yet it is her attraction to the head detective that has thrown her for a loop. Daniel Gallagher doesn’t understand his overwhelming feelings for the witness to one of his investigations but he knows he better keep her close for her protection, as well as his own. The more he spends time with Kaycee, the more he realizes he is looking for far more than just covering his own ass, Daniel is looking for forever. With so many threats coming their way, he will have to keep them both alive before they can make any long-term decisions.

In the Arms of the Wind started pretty slow, but picked up pace quickly and I couldn’t seem to put it down. Kaycee’s character is nothing extraordinary, just a simple woman who has gone through a traumatic experience. Daniel Gallagher on the other hand was as complex a character as you will ever find. Just when I thought I had him figured out I would get blind sided by another turn of events. This is a great story, with a host of important characters who play major roles in this tale. The sexual scenes take a back seat to the actual storyline, which I didn’t mind. As Kaycee’s character evolves, I found myself really enjoying her. She has balls of steal, and the quick wit that I look for in a leading lady. If you like your erotic romance laced with murder, mystery and mayhem, I would have to say, In The Arms Of The Wind should be on top of your list of summer must-reads.

ROMANCE REVIEWS TODAY EROTIC

IN THE ARMS OF THE WIND is a sexy romantic thriller full of intrigue. The plot moves along at a nice pace and keeps readers engaged in the events. Readers will enjoy watching Kaycee, an assistant antiquities dealer, develop a backbone and learn to appreciate life, one challenge at a time. She struggles to learn that life isn’t always safe, but it is worth living. It is very clear that Danny needs Kaycee to help him find redemption.

The setting is very appropriate and it’s easy to imagine the ties that restrict a cop born into a mob family. Danny must walk a very fine line between right and wrong. He is a wonderfully flawed hero. While he struggles against his family’s wishes and his desire for justice, he is both the hero and the villain. I was a little hesitant to see if Danny, a crooked cop, could be redeemed, but Charlotte Boyett-Compo accomplishes this beautifully and is a talented writer. I recommend IN THE ARMS OF THE WIND for readers looking for passion, romance, and suspense.

PARANORMAL ROMANCE REVIEWS

IN THE ARMS OF THE WIND is a very different story for Charlotte Boyett-Compo. Have to admit, this is the first of Charlotte’s stories I read that didn’t have a Reaper in it, but that didn’t make it any less enjoyable. Instead of Reapers, we have Irish gangsters. We still have man’s inhumanity to man and of course, a love meant to be. We have a very simple woman who’s never broken a law in her life being thrown into circumstances way different than anything she’s ever known. And we have our hero, Danny—a ruthless killer with a serious flaw or two. And we get to go along for the ride as Kaycee redeems her man. A very good story and one I highly recommend.
