LITERARY NYMPHS REVIEWS

4.5 Liteary Nymphs

All the Reapers have a past, as well as a painful final path that has led them to their current life. Lord Phelan Kiel is no exception. A twist of love gone wrong and jealousy pushed him to death's hands and into the Triune Goddess' claws. Phelan has eluded love and become content with the few physical encounters he allows to occur. For years, his fellow Reapers have wondered about Phelan's sexual preference and they will be shocked when it's finally determined.

Charlotte Boyett-Compo has finally put Phelan's preferences out for everyone to see in Western Wind - Black Moon Reaper. I'll be the first to admit I wasn't shocked in the least, but learning of Lord Kheelan's past was beyond what I expected. The Goddess truly is starting to disturb me a bit; I wish that woman could find a man who would help her leave everyone else's alone. It's a shame but I like Lord Kheelan more, and that's saying a lot. The introduction of a new Reaper, Gunman Fontabeau Sorn, and a WindWarrior, Desdon Brell, brings new blood to the popular series. Not to mention, a Madame by the name of Lucy who is as feisty and fiercely protective as she is beautiful. Ms. Boyett-Compo has kept this series interesting and far from the mundane. The new characters are just as fascinating as the original characters, and give me hope that this series will have a long life ahead of it. Fantastic book Ms. Boyett-Compo, and I'm looking forward to the next installment.

SIMPLY ROMANCE REVIEWS

Rating: A

I have read most of Charlotte Boyett-Compo’s reaper books and I have never been disappointed and Black Moon Reaper is no exception. From the first page we are immersed into the carefully constructed world of the Western Wind series.

Black Moon Reaper is one surprise after another. Just when you think you’ve got it all figured out then Ms. Compo throws you another loop and you’re off again on another wild ride. I love these reaper stories, can’t get enough of them in fact and I hope that Ms. Compo never runs out of ideas for this wonderful series. Wonderful world building, strong relatable characters, strong plot development and of course some extremely scorching sex scenes all combine to make Black Moon Reaper one hell of a story!

BITTEN BY BOOKS REVIEWS

This eighth installment in the Western Wynd saga is, to say the least, an action packed ride for your imagination. There is so much going on around Phelan Kiel that a summary just does not do it justice. Each book before has added much to the puzzle of the Reaper world but Black Moon Reaper just shows you what more there is to learn about Reapers and Shadowlords as piece by piece the big picture falls into place. Black Moon Reaper simply brings the story to life as it makes the world of Terra visible to the mind's eye.

PARANORMAL ROMANCE REVIEWS

WESTERNWIND: BLACK MOON REAPER takes us back to the fighting and foes we’ve all become accustomed to in the WESTERNWIND series. Charlotte Boyett-Compo does finally answer the question of Phelan’s sexual proclivities in this story when he takes his mate. We also learn a lot more about the head Shadowlord Kheelan Ben-Alkazar—most of which he didn’t want anyone to know. And we get to catch up with all the Reapers and their mates we’ve already come to know and love. As with all of Charlotte Boyett-Compo’s stories, I became caught up in the story from the very beginning and can’t wait to see where she takes the series next. Highly recommended!
