JUST EROTIC ROMANCE REVIEWS

Mina Windwalker is appalled when she finds her betrothed having sex with a white "whore". She jumps on her horse and rides off, unable to believe what she has seen. All she knows is that she no longer wants to marry Chaska. Mina rides her pony until she is far from her tribe's encampment. Takoda Dark Wolf, Chaska's younger brother, has loved Mina since they were children. He follows her to find out what is wrong and they spend the night together.

Amazing! Ms. Boyett-Compo has an incredible grasp on her characters. Native Americans, in this relatively short story, were so well written that I felt that I knew them and their culture. The plot flows seamlessly, with few bumps. The issues of Native Americans who want to behave like "the white man", such as Chaska, are in direct opposition to those who follow the old ways-Mina, Takoda and others. The main, as well as the secondary characters; their desires to continue to live their own way of life are completely explained with a minimum of words. This is a strongly matriarchal society, with the women meting out punishment and praise and convincing the men to go along with their desires. The culture clash is a strong counterpoint to Mina and Takoda's desire to marry. A love story at heart, Autumn Wind has beautifully hot sexual encounters. The difference between Chaska and his desire to be white, but is basically brutish, and Mina and Takoda's lovemaking is intense. I found Ms. Boyett-Compo's use of the Kachadol People's language throughout this story to be an added bonus, which helps tie the entire story together. Ms. Boyett-Compo, thank you for the glossary of words!

FALLEN ANGEL REVIEWS

Charlotte Boyett-Compo delivers a wonderful love story in Autumn Wind. Mina is headstrong and determined. She knows that she will settle if she allows herself to be married off to Chaska. Tukoda is handsome and strong of body, mind and character. The fact that Tukoda loves Mina with his entire soul is apparent in how he treats her, and it’s heartwarming to see love of that nature. The characters and plot are strong and the story flows effortlessly from the first word to the last period. Mrs. Boyett-Compo gives us just a touch of sensual love making, a bit of humor, and an ending where those deserving get their just rewards. Autumn Wind is a story that should not be missed.

THE ROMANCE STUDIO

Ms. Boyett-Compo builds an excellent love story, as she always has in books that I‘ve read. Her words paint vivid pictures of the scenery and the people to help them come alive in our mind’s eye. Combining humor, lust, some surprises and the traditions of the Kachadol People in this story, she weaves a tale that’s fun to read. Even though this looks like a series in the title, Autumn Wind isn’t attached directly to the other novellas. I’ve read the first one and found different characters, different worlds, different time periods but in each a couple breaks tradition in finding their soul mate.

PARANORMAL ROMANCE REVIEWS

SEASONAL WINDS: AUTUMN WIND is a fast, fun read. As with all of Charlotte Boyett-Compo's books, we have the character who doesn't care about anything but himself-in this case, personified by Chaska. There's always the man willing to do anything for the woman he loves-Takoda in this one. And we have a woman forced to deal with issues none of us want to-betrayal by her betrothed. If you enjoy Charlotte Boyett-Compo's books as much as I do, this is one you don't want to miss.
