Just Erotic Romance Reviews

Marin Deringnoe and her friends from an exclusive boarding school find themselves in big trouble after protesting political policy by egging the chief tribunalist’s runabout. Much to the ire of her mother, Marin is sentenced to a stay at Fiain women’s prison for community service. Worse, Marin is in the hands of her mother’s worst enemy, Taegin Drae, a man with every reason to seek revenge on his enemy through her daughter.

Taegin terrifies the innocent Marin, who is not sure what scares her more- his aura of power and violence or the passion blazing in his golden eyes. In the meantime, Taegin finds his plans for vengeance against Marin’s mother supplanted by a growing tenderness towards his captive as the two fan the flames of an eternal love that surprises no one more than Taegin and Marin themselves.

Once again, Ms. Boyett-Compo takes the reins as the creator of an extraordinary world with characters as real as your next-door neighbor in this newest installment of her WindWorld series, Prisoners of the Wind. Ms. Boyett-Compo has a firm grip on this genre of erotica fantasy. Her story moves along swiftly, inserting information about her new creative world with such a deft hand that readers don’t have the opportunity to doubt their foreign world. Taegin and Marin’s evolving relationship is based on the same elements of any real world one: discovery, passion and dedication. The author never allows you to doubt the existence of the shape-shifting creature of the Tiogar Clan from Riochas Prime whose family- indeed nearly his race- was slaughtered during a civil war led by his lover’s mother and her kind. And it is even easy to see how Marin’s innocence and gentility turn his thoughts away from revenge, allowing him to evolve into a kinder man.. Taegin’s creature roars to life when he almost loses Marin, demanding a swift retaliation in a preemptive strike designed to bring his lady to his side once more. Just hold on to your seat in this erotic tale mixing genocide, the battle between the sexes, and absolute love and setting it down in an alien setting that rigidly adheres to its own rules, with no break in the smooth narrative. Marin develops into a woman of strength, fiercely dedicated to the love of her life and Taegin unearths his gentler side as he guides his chosen life mate through the corridors of passion and through the doors of a love that will last through eternity. The passion between the two blisters the scenes, drawing readers deeper and deeper into Ms. Boyett-Compo’s richly drawn web. As Marin’s mother tracks her daughter through the skies, determined to keep the couple apart, they must also contend with a threat from a woman in Taegin’s past who is not ready to let him go? The reader is compelled to keep reading until the end. This is a 100 percent, pull-all-the-stops-out effort by Boyett-Compo and a compelling addition to her series.

Just Erotic Romance Reviews #2

Prisoners of the Wind just keeps getting better the farther into the story you get. Where most novels leave you wondering what happens after the passion is consummated, this novel’s plot continues to grow, allowing the reader to see what happens when fear grows into passion. I found myself checking to see where the conclusion of the book was because I didn’t want to reach the end. There seem to be three different plots developed in this novel so that you never know what to expect next. This definitely kept my interest throughout the story. I really liked the characters. Marin is a very levelheaded woman, with her profound fear yet innate desire to face the reality of her situation. Although she shakes all the way, she does her best to take control, no matter how terrifying it can be. I really admired her strength of will. At first, I was hoping someone would rescue Marin from the wicked and malicious Taegin. I found myself questioning whether he really was the hero, but as the plot developed, so did my attraction to this alpha male character. As he evolves, so did his likeability. And wow, is he hot! All that, “mine” and “you’ll only belong to me” type of attitude really hit my hot button. These sex scenes are wildly arousing and Taegin’s alpha male personality whipped the sexual tension into a delectable frenzy. Overall, anyone looking for a spicy hot romance will find Prisoners of the Wind to be a gripping read.

FALLEN ANGEL REVIEWS

I have just recently started reading Charlotte Boyett-Compo. As soon as I finished the first book by her, I was hooked! Now that I have ‘found’ her I am keeping her on my auto ‘To Buy’ list. The way that she draws you into a fantastical world made real by the emotions and reactions of the characters is masterful. This particular book was fascinating because of the different peoples introduced (to me at least). The Tigron race, the warrior women of Riochas, the kind people of Comhcheol; all were brought to life by histories that were written so well that you didn’t feel like you were getting a lesson. I cannot wait to dive into the pile of Charlotte Boyett-Compo books that I went and bought after reading this one.

EROTIC-ESCAPADES

5 -- Tattoos- One of the best stories the reviewer has read in ages. There's a heat wave a comin', you'd better turn on the AC.

Prisoners of the Wind is another thrilling and titillating erotic book by Charlotte Boyett-Compo. Immediately I was drawn into the story of Marin and Taegin. I admired Marin because she was the type of heroine who, although she was scared, took control of her situation and did not allow anyone to intimidate her. Taegin began the story as a bully but morphed into Marin's greatest protector. He was the ultimate hero…sexy as hell, dominant and yet sensitive.

The sex scenes between Taegin and Marin were arousing, passionate and extremely loving. Their attraction and love for each other was almost palpable. Ms. Boyett-Compo has skillfully crafted another story from the WindVerse series that I will remember for a long time to come. Prisoners of the Wind has earned a permanent space on my keeper shelf !

Their journey is interesting and following the events will keep you glued to your seat. Charlotte Boyett-Compo has created a believable and complex world. This book could easily take place in the present and it most definitely would fit into the period of history when pirates roamed the seas. PRISONERS OF THE WIND is Boyett-Compo at her best. Her characters come alive and you easily visualize them as they go about their daily lives. It’s a definite recommended read and a keeper.

THE ETERNAL NIGHT REVIEWS

This book is action packed from beginning to the end with the sensual scenes amazingly hot but also tender and loving, the horrors Drae and Marin face, extreme. It's their love, honor and trust of each other though that shine through their trials and bring them even closer together. All of Charlotte's books are keepers but this one is one of my favorites. Her work constantly amazes me with its sheer depth of feeling and insight. Always a heart quickening read and this story is no exception.

JOYFULLY REVIEWED

Prisoners of the Wind is a remarkable story! From the very moment that Marin begins her adventure on the Revenge and comes into the presence of Captian Drae, the attraction between these two feels like a magnet, drawing them together. He is hard on Marin at first, which made me want to slap him, but as the story progressed I started to really like him. Marin is a strong woman that I first thought was going to be weak, but she really grew into her character and I found that I didn’t want this story to end. Ms. Boyett-Compo is now one of my must read authors! Prisoners of the Wind is a definite recommendation for anyone, but make sure you have time to read it all in one setting, you won’t want to put it down!

ECATAROMANCE REVIEWS

Charlotte Boyett-Compo writes a book full of action and hot sex. Just when the reader thinks the story is coming to an end, Ms. Boyett-Compo continues the story in a new and exciting direction. Taegin's past comes back to haunt him at the worst possible time. Can Taegin and Marin find happiness together or will her mother have the last word? This is a great book that kept me reading late into the night when I should have been sleeping. I could not put it down.

THE ROMANCE STUDIO

This is an adventurous book that readers will love and want to read again and again. The sparks that fly between Marin and Taegin are explosive and you can see them from miles away. The love scenes are filled with tension and interruptions to build the tension even more. When they do finally get together it is a smoldering passionate scene. Charlotte Boyett Compo has made a name for herself with the Windverse series and this book is another great addition to the collection.

NOVELSPOT

8 out of 10

Hate and the need for revenge so strong that it consumes a person’s soul is something I never want to experience. Charlotte Boyett-Compo’s Prisoners of the Wind gives you a taste of that feeling. At the beginning, Taegin is all about revenge at any cost and as the story unfolds you understand why.

Marin knows that she will never meet her mother’s standards. So Marin is all about living her life, her way, as she has no desire to be consumed by the hatred that has eaten away at her mother’s soul. Marin seizes life and love with both hands.

Taegin finds his plans for revenge changing in the hands of Marin, daughter of his greatest enemy. Taegin and Marin learn about each other as people sharing both their dreams, and their sorrows. They find that love can conquer hate, if given a chance.

I found that Taegin and Marin were characters I wanted to learn more about in this multi-layered book. Prisoners of the Wind is so much more than a spicy romance. Hate, revenge, love, trust and devotion are intrical parts of this tightly woven story. It had so many facets to the story that this is a book to share with your friends. This kind of storytelling is why all of Ms. Boyett-Compo’s books are a must have for me.

ENCHANTED RAMBLINGS

Ms. Boyett-Compo has crafted an interesting world in which she has a variety of books set. This book stands alone, though, so you do not need to read the others to know what is going on. I found it a full story, with lots going on, no sooner did one issue get solved, when another would become a problem. Some of the language was a bit flowery for me, and on the whole the story evoked the memory of the bodice rippers of the 80's. If you are fan, this is likely to be one of your new favorites.
