Extremely dark and graphic, LONGING'S LEVANT by Charlotte Boyett-Compo is not for the faint of heart, and I don't mean because of the sex. Readers should be warned that the rape of Evann-Sin is very realistic, and those who do not care for these types of scenes in their books should steer clear. There is also plenty of violence, especially during the fight between Tamara and Sylviana, with much bloodshed and a gruesome depiction of the nasty hags' death. The love and lust between Evann-Sin and Tamara is instantaneous, although both know that an Akkadian warrior and a Hell Hag have no business being together. Tamara is strong and independent, and very capable of taking care of herself. But she knows love when she sees it, and I liked how she doesn't try to avoid Evann-Sin just because she is a warrior. A tortured soul, Evann-Sin can't understand why he reacts so severely to the sight of Tamara, but again, he embraces his feelings for her, rather than fighting them. Along with Evann-Sin and Tamara, two other characters are introduced later in the book, Cainer Cree and Kaibyn Zafeyr, and they have their own story to tell.

The latest from Charlotte Boyett-Compo proves yet again why she has become so popular in this particular genre, and LONGING'S LEVANT is not to be missed!

THE ROMANCE STUDIO

This story kept me turning the pages the whole way through. I couldn't wait to see what happened next. Riel is sexy, yet sensitive and enough to make your toes curl. Tamara is not afraid to fight for what she wants and right the wrongs that have been done. She is a heroine that you will love and cheer for. There is the subject matter of the rape of Riel, so if some readers are sensitive to this subject they may want to think twice before reading this one. The love scenes between Riel and Tamara are sensual and passionate, with an added touch of romance. I am looking forward to Charlotte Boyett-Compo's next book and can't wait to see what she comes up with next.

JUST EROTIC ROMANCE REVIEWS

Ms. Boyett-Compo has created an interesting futuristic world that grew on me as I read the story. She definitely has a creative imagination and a knack for creating complex characters. I will admit that one of the more graphic scenes in the book was difficult for me to get past. However, I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys very detailed paranormal stories and is not put off by graphic violence. Longing’s Levant is a must read for fans of science fiction or the paranormal.

Longing’s Levant is a very graphic and a dark love story. The relationship of Evan-Sinn and Tamara is scorching, the words almost burned off the very pages as I read them. ‘Longings Levant’ is a really difficult book to categorize. You have vampires, shape shifter/vampires, demons, mages, goddesses… The list just goes on and on. Ms Boyett-Campo has created a world where all these can co-exist without overwhelming the reader. She gradually introduces each character, feeding you snippets of information so that you start to build pictures of this world and the people who inhabit it. Fantasy or vampire, shape shifter or futuristic, I don’t care how this book is classified. All I know is that it gradually drew me into a mystical world, where evil seems to be paramount, only to find that love can truly conquer evil.

Ms. Boyett-Compo's WindWorld universe is a very interesting one and this story is just one of the many fascinating aspects of it. There is a lot of sex in this book; hot, passionate, arousing, erotic and sometimes unusual sex. Squeamish readers should be aware that LONGING'S LEVANT is not for the weak of heart.

Charlotte Boyett-Compo has made a fan out of me. I loved LONGING'S LEVANT and have since started reading other stories from the WindWorld universe. Ms. Boyett-Compo has quite a talent for creating vivid characters and lush environments. LONGING'S LEVANT captured my imagination and did not relinquish its hold until the satisfying conclusion. This was a story that will stay with me for a long time to come.

Charlotte Boyett-Compo has written a dark and intense romance with Longing's Levant. This book has a creative plot and great multiple storylines. There are supporting characters which she adds in gradually so as not to overwhelm the reader. However be advised that Longing's Levant contains graphic sexual content, including a rape scene. I had to put this book down a couple of times, but the creative and intriguing plot kept me coming back for more.

LOVES ROMANCE

Longing’s Levant is the latest from Ms. Boyett-Compo and is a thrilling ride filled with mystery, exciting characters and a setting that is truly magical. Ms. Boyett-Compo is a wonderful author that will surely delight and tempt the reader into new heights of their imagination. Riel Evann-Sin is a dangerous man who is bent on getting Tamara in bed yet he also displays tenderness towards her. Tamara is a wonderful mix of femininity as well as strength as she deals with Evann-Sin’s desire for her as well as her fight against an evil she cannot stop without help. Ms. Boyett-Compo delivers wonderful character driven story that has the reader guessing what will come next. The only drawback with this was that Longing’s Levant had a few too many main characters to understand and care about. It got a little confusing to keep track who was the hero and heroine sometimes.

Ms. Boyett-Compo is a delightful author that will tell a wonderful tale to the reader, draw them in and transport them to a place only in the imagination. The interplay between characters was interesting yet alive with feeling. Her secondary characters helped a little bit with keeping the plot going but the four main characters (Tamara, Evann-Sin, Cainer & Kaibyn) are the main meat of the storyline here. The mystery that surrounds the queen’s desire will captivate the reader as well. It will literally keep the reader on the edge of their seats!! By creating this wonderful book, Ms. Boyett-Compo has delivered a wonderful story that will literally keep the reader guessing what happens next. Longing’s Levant truly a gem in disguise and will transport the reader to the edge of their imagination.
