4.5 stars Charlotte Boyett-Compo’s Pleasure’s Foehn is very intense, exciting and suspenseful. It will grab you and not let you go. With fantastic humor, passionate love and suspenseful danger, this novel has something for everyone. Davan Shanahan is a gifted surgeon. She wants to use those skills at the front line and requests a assignment here. What she gets is an assignment to the Foehn, an R & R ship, also known as a flying cathouse. With her hair untamable and flying every which way, Davan reports to the ship. It quickly becomes obvious that no one wants her there including the Captain, Cairnan Ghrian. Also known as the Black Sun, Cair is second in line to the throne of the Amhantar Province. Annoyed with the new medical officer, Cair joins in as they play practical jokes on Davan. Not giving in, Davan gradually wins the respect of the crew, including the Captain. As they push each other’s buttons, something else seems to be happening, something hot and electric. Cair is quite the character. Assigned to the Foehn at his mother, the queen's request, he does not want to be there and refuses to comply with his mother’s wishes. Davan is delightful to watch as she counters all of the practical jokes thrown her way. Some of her methods are laugh out loud funny. These two are a delight to watch as they deal with each other, neither one willing to back down. In keeping with her WindVerse series, Foehn blows right in. A gift from a master story teller, Pleasure Foehn is not to be missed. In addition, the characters are realistic and engaging. The internal struggle Cair suffers as he comes to terms with his royalty is intriguing, and his interaction with the unusual prisoners he encounters when he reclaims Davie is highly entertaining. In addition, the author incorporates many diverse life forms to show the differences between both the characters and the planets from which they come. Davan is a spicy, smart and sensual woman who wants to serve in the war. Saving lives is important to her. She is flabbergasted when she is sent to the Foehn but handles the transition with dignity and doesn’t take crap from anyone. Cair hasn’t handled his banishment with dignity. After being sent to the Foehn he has tried to drink and whore his way through everything. Both feel a pull towards the other, but they aren’t going to admit it easily. The other characters from this book complement this great read. I did find the connection between Davan and Cair a little quick. The setting was interesting as it changed and kept the reader intrigued. Overall Pleasure’s Foehn is a great space adventure and will be a delight for those who love erotic romance in a science fiction setting. Julia Esparza REVIEW #5 SCRIBE’S WORLD 4.5 Stars As one of the WindWorld stories, Charlotte's Reapers are in here, but not until much later. Because of this, this futuristic world was new to me, but very well-drawn, and I definitely liked the characters. I wish that there'd been more time to drag out the beginning of the relationship between Davan and Cair--they fell in love too quickly, accepting what they'd been fighting a little too easily. I would have liked to see more of their history and get to know them better. That first practical joke set up what could have been a fun couple of chapters before things got serious, but was nipped in the bud almost immediately. Still, the way things did play out worked and was enjoyable to read. If you like a steamy (try hot!) futuristic, definitely give this story a look. It's a great read--one I was sorry to see end so quickly. that spark going throughout the whole book. The duo struggled to stay together even
against death itself. I was a little confused near the end of the book by the introduction of
a whole new species and subplot. However, the plot twist was integrated smoothly
enough for me to become even more involved with the new characters. I enjoyed
Pleasure’s Foehn for the scenery, the personalities of the characters, and the tear-

The initial animosity between Davie and Cair is understandable, as neither of them is happy with their assignments.Cair knows that the Foehn is his prison and punishment for not marrying the woman his mother, Queen Meg, had picked out for him. Davie is resentful over her new assignment, and the lack of respect from the crew and the women employed on the ship is enough to incite her legendary Amhantarean temper. The clashes between Cair and Davie are something to behold, as is the chemistry.
Because of the ongoing war in the Quadrant, there is a bit of danger mixed into the story. PLEASURE'S FOEHN also has a colorful cast of secondary characters, who may, with luck, have stories of their own in the future. For an entertaining tale, pick up PLEASURE'S FOEHN today.
