DREAMWIND

'Pardon me, my lady,' he said unto me
As he stepped from my dreams into reality.
'I'm not really certain just why I am here,
But don't be afraid; you have nothing to fear.
I've come a great distance to fulfill your dream;
All I ask is your patience. Will you listen to me?

I sat bolt upright, bumped my head on the wall
And stared at this vision so handsome and tall.
His hair was as dark as a raven's bright wing
His eyes a deep brown with an unnatural sheen.
He was every girl's dream from his toes to his head
And he was standing right there at the foot of my bed!

'My name is Syn,' he said with a smile
His grin was infectious and totally without guile.
'The gods and their ladies have sent me to you
What is the first thing you'd like me to do'?'
He took a step closer and loomed over me
As handsome a dream lover as there ever could be.

'Do'?' I repeated, my mind in a haze
I'd never been so confused in all my born days!
I glanced down beside me where my husband still slept
Blissfully unaware of the company I kept.
'Tom! Wake up!' I managed to shout
'There's a man in our room for crying out loud!'

With a snore so horrid it could wake up the dead
Tom turned to his side, pulled the pillow o'er his head.
I sputtered and fumed and shoved his shoulder sooo hard
But Tom just continued to be a buzz saw.
Some champion, I thought with a sneer of disgust
And looked back to Syn with a look of mistrust.

'Just exactly what is it you've come here to do'?'
I insisted he answer and the answer be true.
'Your wish will become my every command,'
He replied with a wink and a stroke of his hand.
'Whatever you want, I will move heaven to see
That it will be done as you want it to be.'

I looked down at Tom and shook him once more
But all the man did was continue to snore
I hissed in his ear, I pinched his fat butt
All I got for my trouble was a shake of his gut.
I tried one last time to get him to wake
'Go 'way,' he mumbled. 'Leave me alone for Pete's sake!'

I looked back at Syn, standing there at my side
Taking in his male beauty and the white of his smile.
At that thick brown hair and the gleaming dark eyes
The rock-hard flat belly, lean flanks and taut thighs.
The muscles that strained across his wide chest
At his handsome dark face and all of the rest.

I gave one last sigh and made up my mind
I would leave old Tom and his snoring behind.
I threw back the covers and hopped off the bed
Flew straight to Syn's arms and together we fled
Away from the housework, the laundry and chores
To a land where there are no belches and snores.

Now, I laze every day in splendid attire
While Syn peels me grapes and strums on his lyre
I gossip with women who've found their way here
All of us pampered and held oh so dear
Our words listened to with abiding respect
By dreamy young men with hard chiseled pecs.

Would I ever go back? I've been asked now and then
To the housework and chores, the six cats in my den?
To Tom's dirty T-shirts, his smelly old sneakers?
Him hoarding the clicker and turning up all the speakers'?
I shake my head and then give this reply:
'Only when pigs have learned how to fly!'
