THE CITADEL
In what was once the area encompassing the twenty-nine acres where the Pentagon originally sat before the Burning War, the Citadel was built over the crumbling foundations. It is a six million square foot fortress that is the headquarters of the High Council. Built of brick, it is fashioned in the shape of a flattened five-sided star and is five stories tall including the basement. There is a large portico in front.
There are ten sections on each of the five floors. The ground floor contains:
The Seven Continents = 1-7
The troops (guards, etc.) = 8
Maintenance personnel and workers = 9
Offices of the High Council = 10
The second floor is for the families of those who are not assigned at or do not work for the Citadel but are there at the Shadowlord™ or Reaper™ discretion..
The third floor is divided into for the Shadowlords™ Naois Belvoir and Dunham Tarnes and the and three Gatekeepers™. Each has an entire section to himself or herself as his personal residence. Within the scope of each of the remaining four sections on that floor are a large library, one office for the Shadowlords™ and one for the Gatekeepers™ plus a common area used for relaxation.
The fourth floor is just for the Reapers™ (ten sections in all). Each Reaper™ is assigned a lavish apartment. Each apartment has a large parlor, formal dining area, spacious kitchen, hallway leading to two guests rooms (each with its own bath), and the master suite with an oversized bathing chamber...all done in black marble with pale green tile.
The fifth floor is exclusively for the use of the High Lord and his sister. Housed here in one section is a repository of inventions salvaged from before the Burning War.
The solarium is located on the ground floor overlooking the central courtyard. It houses exotic plants from all over the world.
The central courtyard is located inside the interior of the pentagram. A portico runs the entire circumference of the courtyard. In the center is a fountain with concrete tables and benches scattered about. Many eat their lunches there.
The basement floor--called Level One--is where the containment cells, medical and research facilities, quarantine, quarters for the Healers and technicians. Far beneath the ground, there is a series of tunnels called the Catacombs where the records of civilization is kept. Tomes of medical research were discovered there during the rebuilding. This is where the scientific knowledge brought to Terra by the Shadowlords is also kept.
Dining facilities/kitchens for all but the Shadowlords™ and Reapers™ are located within the scope of the section belonging to the maintenance personnel and workers. Reapers™ generally dine with the High Council and its staff of Gatekeepers in a room located across from the solarium.
