THE CEANNUS
"We will destroy mankind!"
Organized by Barriq Cean on his homeworld of Chiaroscuro, far beyond Esvaria in the Diamhair Galaxy, these alien scientists brought the first balgairs (rogues) to Terra mostly from the Cairghrian and Diamhair galaxies before the Burning Wars. When Morrigunia brought the first Reapers to fight them, the Ceannus fled, leaving behind instructions for the rogues on performing Transferences of their parasites.
The Ceannus are well over seven feet in height and rail-thin with overly long arms and spindly legs that have enormous flexibility to them. Completely hairless, the heads of the Ceannus are very large in proportion to their body structure. Their thin—almost delicate—hands have four exceedingly long fingers and a thumb, which end in bulbous sucker-like pads. Likewise, their feet have long toes with the same type pads. The beings do not possess ears and the slit of their mouths is lipless, opening to reveal a pale white orifice bracketed with twin rows of very small, very sharp barbed teeth. With pale gray warty flesh upon which no clothing is worn, are oversized black slanted eyes devoid of pupils, a sharply pointed chin, and a broad, flat nose with its triple row of vented nostrils, the Ceannus appearance is enough to make the hair stir on many a man’s arms. No other creatures in the megaverse are as gruesome in appearance as the Ceannus. Combining their appearance and the total lack of any visible reproductive staff, the Ceannus’ look is one of malevolent strangeness.
Perse Cean, half-Storian, half-Chiaros, was the granddaughter of Barrig Cean. She and three other Ceannus went to Riezell-Nine to make Reapers. Lewis Acklard was one of her technicians.
Before the beginning of the Burning War, Lexis Acklard was the High Lord of the Ceannus team that had been sent to Terra with a batch of newly-made rogues. Acklard’s was a powerful voice among the Assembly of his homeworld and he had been personally chosen by Raphian. The first batch of rogues were all but destroyed during the War and Acklard brought a second batch back after Terra had settled down. He was eventually killed by Morrigunia in an attack upon his encampment.
There was a large settlement of Ceannus beyond the mountain range in Calizonia on Terra.Approximately three hundred balgairs were residing in the camp and at least half that many cybots. This encampment was under the direction of Alalexisa Acklard, daughter of the martyred High Lord and Chosen Consort of Raphian.
The Ceannus brought ghoret eggs to Terra to help them wipe out humankind.
