  • IN THE BEGINNING...

In the black coldness of space--far beyond the last visible star--the gods and goddesses of the megaverse reside on a planet in the Tabhartas Galaxy. The planet is divided almost equally across the middle so the world has two distinct arcs. The Under Arc, The Drochtom Arc, is where the evil gods reside and is the home of the Abyss.

Here is where Raphian and His minions of immorality and malevolence hold court. Here, too, is where the vile creature known as the Nikkeson is kept imprisoned in the muck of the Abyss. The Drochtom Arc is a fiery realm of brimstone and sulfur, of horrible stenches permeating the air but deep inside it's core is the lightless and reeking frigid depths of the Abyss where the evil of evils and Nightwinds are imprisoned. It is an unholy part of the world from whence no traveler ever returns.

In the Over Arc, named the Maitheas Arc, this airy blue world lies unseen among the freshening winds and soaring cloud formations is home to Alel and the beings who serve His will. This is the abode (though not the homeworld) of Morrigunia, the Triune Goddess, the Sustainer of the Reapers. Hidden within the Maitheas Arc is where She breeds Her own very special Reapers, sons of Her own body called the guirt. These Reaper offspring are conceived from Morrigunia's dream-induced 'rape' of an established Reaper. Also created there was the very first Hell-Hound Reaper.

Known as three separate personifications: life, death, warrioress. She is the representation of the three stages in a woman's life: maiden, mother, crone. Among the attributes given to Her is that of a mighty huntress Whose skills are without equal among the goddesses. To that end, Her husband--Alel--gifted Her with a kennel of the finest hunting dogs, hounds of exceptional ability and stamina. Bred and trained by Meoir ny Goyin, the master of hounds, the hounds were fierce and loyal to their new mistress. As it always is in nature, one beast became the alpha hound. Morrigunia named it Mac Imshee.

So fond of Mac Imshee was the goddess, She allowed the beast to sleep at the foot of Her bed. She took the hound wherever She went--even sailing aloft with him gripped in Her claws when She took dragon form. She loved Mac Imshee more than the guirt and when the animal was gored by one of Alel's sacred bulls and died, the Triune Goddess was beyond Herself with grief. In an effort to keep Her beloved hound with Her, She opened Her side and removed a revanant worm, transferring it into the cooling body of Mac Imshee. In doing so, She hoped to have him with Her for all eternity. She was stunned when the beast came to life almost instantly but began to change, to transition, before Her. As a Reaper's first transition after death into the form of a wolf, the hound conversely transitioned into the form of a handsome black-haired man with glowing amber eyes and a wicked grin.

Before the goddess could stop him, the newly-transitioned Reaper swept his arm around Her and planted a kiss upon Her lips that drew away Her breath. When he released Her, the goddess was so aroused She fell on him and took him as Her own.

So enamored was She of Her new creation, Morrigunia forgot to place the Geas (the taboo) against polygamy upon the new Reaper She labeled a Hell-Hound from the wicked gleam in his amber eyes. As a result, Hell-Hound Reapers are not subject to the one woman rule that is the law for their lupine cousins.

Among the other differences between Lupine and Hell-Hound Reapers is the Hell-Hound's inability to shapeshift into any form other than canine. He does not have the power of flight but to make up for that, neither is he afraid of water as Lupine Reapers are. The Hell-Hound loves to swim and has no aversion to garlic. He needs tenerse and Sustenance daily to keep him from transitioning out of cycle. While he can be quite a man-whore, once he finds his bond-mate, he prefers to settle down with her and raise a pack of hounds of his own.

Of the two kinds of Reapers Morrigunia creates, the hell-hounds are Her favorite.
