THE THIRTEEN DEGREES OF THE ORDER OF
THE CELESTIAL DESCENDENCY |
| Postulant | |
Young one training for admission into the Order, both before actual admission and for the length of time proceeding their
admission into the novitiate at the age of thirteen years. Here the fledgling witch will learn her craft from the members of her family. |
| Novice | |
Student who is being tried and being proven for suitability of admission into the Order. Candidate will advance to the next degree
at the age of eighteen years. While holding this degree, the witch will hone her craft. |
| Deaconess | |
This level of training which begins at age twenty-one anchors the witch in what will be her field of expertise. If she has shown a
talent for scrying, she will be placed under the tutelage of a Scry Archdeaconess to master the art. Likewise for all skills involved within the craft. |
| Mistress of Postulants | |
Each witch is required to spend a year of service in helping to train the new postulants. It is a way of giving back to those
who taught her. Think of the MP as a Big Sister. |
| Mistress of Novices | |
Each witch is required to spend a year of service in aiding novices to choose the field of expertise the novice will follow and
to help guide her through the instruction. |
| Archdeaconess | |
At the age of twenty-four, the witch must now take her vow of Obedience to the Order. She is now capable of being a teacher in her
own right and may decide whether or not to stay at the Convent or return to the outside world. |
| Prefectress | |
Upon reaching her twenty-sixth year, she must hold an office within the Order. Each
Power Ability has its own office of administration. |
| Provostress | |
Upon reaching her twenty-ninth birthday, the witch must spend a year on the Council of Laws where she will help settle arguments,
judge punishments, and help to maintain the dsicipline of her sisters. |
| Warrioress | |
At thirty years of age, each witch is given this degree. She made choose whether or not to receive advanced training in the
art of combat. Those who do not choose to advance, will receive only necessary survival training but those who continue on will became the protectors of their tribe. Most witches
choose to advance and will spend five years in the Corps of Protectors. |
| Vicaress | |
When a witch has reached her thirty-fifth birthday, she may now decide to become One with the Blood. What this means is she
may become immortal by accepting the bite of her Queen. In other words, she will become a vampire. |
| Abbess | |
The leader of the convent is chosen at age sixty and beyond from among those who are One with the Blood. This is an elected position
although it is considered one of the thirteen degrees. |
| Tribal Queen | |
The witch in charge of the tribe and coven. She reports only to the Queen of the Daughters of the Night. This is generally a hereditary
position. |
